Aspire Medical Staffing is looking for a Surgical Technologist to provide services at

Central Texas Market CRDAMC, 9214 20th St, Fort Hood, TX 76544 Fort Hood TX

Responsibilities

· Provide Operating Room Support.

● Perform the full spectrum of sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and draping patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative dressings.
● Assist with the setup of robotics procedures.
● Assist in large orthopedic cases such as total knee replacements, total hip replacements, and spinal surgeries.
● Ensure surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure, to include restocking surgical supplies.
● Maintain a clean, safe environment for the patient either by active participation in the cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in the environmental maintenance.
● Assist in performance of circulating duties under direction of a registered nurse.
● Transport patient to and from nursing unit.
● Take specimens to/from laboratory.
● Perform scrub duties in all specialties, including emergency and robotic surgeries.
● Prepare equipment and supplies in a safe manner following surgical procedures.
● Return equipment to proper location.
● Process instruments in a manner for reuse.
● Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
● Anticipate needs of next day’s assignment and prepare necessary supplies and equipment.
● Transports patients using wheelchairs, stretchers and/or walking ambulatory patients to receive procedures, tests, and/or x-rays, or to other wards.
● Coordinate with profession staff prior to and after transporting patients.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate an accredited program or have military background in Surgical Technologist
  • License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted licensure as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico)of the US or in the District of Columbia
  • Experience : Within the last two (2) years, one (1) year of scrubbing experience as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician after graduation in any one (or a combination of more than one) of the following surgical services general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, or genitourinary. Experience in robotics and large orthopedic cases is required. One (1) year of scrubbing experience must be equivalent to the work of 40-hours a week for 52-weeks. Part-time experience is acceptable but must equal one (1) year of consolidated experience.
  • Certification: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-In-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification BLS Certification through AHA
  • Must be a US Citizen
