Overview

Aspire Medical Staffing is in search of an Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician for Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System.

Schedule:

  • Normal working days are Tuesday and Friday (8 hours days). There are an estimated 80 hours for after-hour consulting per year. There are an estimated 10 hours per year for emergency consultation. After hours and emergency situations may require the physician  to report to the hospital but could be handled over the phone
  • Clinic hours on Tuesdays and Fridays. Tuesday mornings for surgery, Tuesday afternoons
    and Fridays for clinic.
  • Available for emergent services with 1 hour response time. Emergent services average 10
    hours per year.
  • Provide after-hours phone consultation coverage. After-hours coverage averages 80 hours
    per year.

Job Overview:
Provide on-site Otolaryngology physician services including clinic, minor surgery, consultative, emergent,
and after-hours coverage for veteran patients at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System. Deliver care
meeting or exceeding current national standards set by the American Academy of Otolaryngology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient clinic, minor surgery, consultative, emergent, and after-hours Otolaryngology
    services covering the full scope of ENT care.
  • Perform comprehensive Otolaryngology evaluations, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans,
    prescribe medications, order and interpret tests, and provide follow-up care.
  • Conduct minor Otolaryngology procedures such as sinus surgery, head/neck cancer removal,
    panendoscopy, tonsillectomy, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, laryngoscopy.
  • Be present for all Otolaryngology surgeries, provide intraoperative follow-up, and participate in
    morbidity and mortality conferences.
  • See patients requiring urgent consultations within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board Certified in Otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
  • At least 3 years of post-residency Otolaryngology experience.
  • ACLS and BLS certified or equivalent.
  • Proficient in English language, reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills and up-to-date medical knowledge.
  • Experience using electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to pass background investigation and security clearance
  • Willingness to maintain CMEs and complete all required VA training.
