Working as a Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist at the Veteran Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, you will work alongside, active duty professionals, GS, and other federal contractors. You could be servicing the highest leadership and their family member at any moment, so this positions comes with a great deal of skills training and preparedness when you step into this role.

Schedule: (80 hours per pay period)

  • Monday-Friday 8AM to 4:30PM

Responsibilities

TRTs shall prepare imaging, simulation, treatment, and ancillary
equipment for patient use.

 

TRTs shall receive and interpret prescriptions/instructions from
the treating physician and carry out complex assignments while under
general supervision of the Supervisory Radiation Therapist.

 

TRTs shall maintain appropriate markings on patients’ skin to
facilitate exact positioning for desired results and cushions/shields patients
as appropriate. Procedures will be explained to patients securing the
confidence & cooperation of patients, explain procedures while following
ALARA principles.

Qualifications

  • Education: Certificate or an Associate degree from an accredited institution by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and certification by the ARRT in (T) radiation therapy.
  • Certifications: hold and maintain certification and registration in Radiation Therapy (T) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS),. Must be through the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience with the following: Shall know ARIA software, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)Orthogonal X-Rays (KV/KV), - Delivery of prescribed therapeutic radiation for the purposes of cancer and abnormal cell growth treatments, in 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation (IGRT), Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS), Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT), RapidArc.
